Local Workshop in Serbia


The local workshop in Serbia took place on 6-7th March 2015 and was completed successfully. In total, 19 educators (elementary school and high school teachers) from various regions of Serbia, 1 policymaker from the Serbian Ministry of Education, 1 educator from Serbian SCIENTIX Ambassadors, 6 scientists and science communicators (fields: astrophysics, physics, biology, psychology, chemistry) and 9 students (11-16 years old) attended.

The aims of the workshop were:

  • to collect the best STEM pedagogies and practices among STEM teachers,
  • to evaluate the quality of collected practices and define if it is applicable in other EU partner countries,
  • networking: teachers, researchers, policymakers and making new collaborations among them,
  • mark student as central figure in educational system,
  • present the MARCH platform to Serbian policy makers from Ministry of Education and Science and Technological Development,
  • to recruit researchers to be more involved in educational improvement, and
  • to create a new and innovative curricula in STEM education
