Centre for Science and Art Promotion

Centre for Science and Art Promotion (CSAP) is a private organization from Belgrade, Serbia, formed in 2004. The area of CSAP expertise, is, short and simple, making science understandable and attractive to the mainstream audience in Serbia, primarily youth.

CSAP is the founder of the most important event in the field of science promotion in Serbia: the Science Festival. In 2012, the sixth annual edition of the Festival had 30,000 visitors in four days and was held at four venues, with participation of 450 young scientists and 36 institutions from Serbia and abroad. Parallel with building a network of science communicators through collaboration with all universities and science institutes in Serbia, CSAP is working on expanding Science Festival to other cities and primary and secondary schools across Serbia. CSAP has also participated in the organization of the 2011 and 2012 editions of the Researchers’ Night in Serbia. Each year, this massive public event is simultaneously organized in over 300 European cities, with an aim of bringing science and scientists closer to “ordinary people”. In addition, CSAP has founded Science Picnic Belgrade, traditional annual workshop for science communicators (in partnership with Les Atomes Chorus, France). Also, the CSAP team member was project coordinator for the development of the first permanent Science park in Serbia. CSAP’s winning strategy is reflected in the carefully planned program for each event, in constant progress in this regard, and a great use of media in advertising, as well as in extensive PR campaigns - CSAP has partners in over 60 media outlets in Serbia. CSAP is a member of European Science Events Association (EUSEA).
